Warren police officer charged in assault on suspect in custody

A Warren police officer is facing charges in an excessive force incident that happened in the jail last week.

Misdemeanor? That looked like a felony. Had that been the other way around, the young man would've probably got at least 5 years in prison. There is 2 justice systems. This is proof. At this point, the young man has a strong case for a million dollar lawsuit.

excessive force? that was a sucker punch to a man 1/2 his size, then the body slam, then the beating, then the dragging by hair to the cell. This is a HELL of a lot more than excessive force.

Way to go. Hitting a 19 year old. He might suffer long lasting injuries, he might suffer from PTSD afterwards. And anxiety. But he *definitely* won't have trust into police officers anymore. And a few years later he unloads his anger, depression, anxiety and frustration on an officer. With bullets.

This "officer" is a disgrace to society.

They should now go after his certification, decertify him to clean house. Lawsuits only cost taxpayers and citizens leaving the crook to repeat his actions. Hope the family and attorney go after his certification. Other two shpuld be suspended and chsrged with failure to intervene. Talking alone wasnt enough..should have arrested the crook.

Only a misdemeanor? Should be a felony for abuse of power and attempt to inflict severe bodily injury. The cop has serious mental issues and should never be allowed to carry weapons on or off duty.
