1. Focus on one single task avoid multitasking, if you want to improve ur focus as a beginner it's better to use pomodoro or flowmodoro
2. Tolerate boredom, control it
3. Drain shallowness, show finding excuses, and completely focus only the most prior task at hand

His videos are like a antidote against a chronic disease called "distraction" specifically . 👍🙂

1. Focus on 1 thing at a time for as long as possible
2. Tolerate boredom
3. Plan

For tolerating boredom, here are some tips for you:

1. Delete all forms of games, social media platforms, etc; Any application that will get you distracted.
2. Use your boredom to plan out your day/life. Writing it out can help give you a better image.
3. Change your environment to amp your boredom even further. My go-to spot is usually the library, but I have seen my high school peers studying at places like Starbucks too. As long as there's people around, you'll most likely be less inclined to procrastinate compared to when you're alone at home. Just make sure there's internet connection available.

I didn‘t use a phone for 1 whole year (replaced it with a flip phone) and then switched back in october, now i find myself struggling with the same distractions as i did before ditching my phone for a self-experiment. I definitely want to do something about it, so thank you for motivating us to stay on track with our goals!

This video basically called me out on all my toxic procrastination behaviors. It is nice to know I am not the only one going through this. I hope I will be able to implement the tips you gave and actually get some meaningful work done.

I work as a video editor, i noted that when I focus on one single task, like finishing the video, like turning off my phone and removing distractions, the job gets done really fast and smoothly

This vid is so underrated, I would always fall into multitasking and eventually just go to YT and waste my time or after being so bored I would just turn to shallow work and get not a lot done. Ill try your tips for a month an (hopefully) give an update!

This video was very on point, not to deep nor shallow, just the right amount of tips and guidelines for us to develop our own approach to the situation, something I miss in a lot of videos. Thanks for the content.

“Drain the shallows” blew my mind, I related your explanation so much to my daily basis. Switching tasks that are “faster” to complete, but in fact they might not be.

i think what helps when your studying is to create an environment that you specifically use when your going to study, and your brain will start to realise when you are in a room with these certain conditions that you are going to study. I was just sharing my thoughts so i hope this helps!

I also used to have troubles getting and staying in deep work, however, one of the most helpful tips I’ve received and now practice daily is falling in love with learning. One thing that all hyper successful people have in common is their love for learning. Instead of spending their free time watching pointless movies or endlessly scrolling on social media, they learn or study subjects that are either interesting to them or relates to their career. If you think learning is boring you have to change that. That’s your mind associating learning with negative emotions which were probably derived from boring subjects at school. You have to find a way to harness your inner curiosity (this will make learning enjoyable) & competitiveness (this will allow you learn or be in “deep work” for longer). Deleting social media apps can help if you have troubles getting into deep work. Social media, especially short form content (tik tok, insta reels, yt shorts) drains your dopamine receptors and therefore, makes learning less enjoyable because you’ve used up all the pleasure chemicals in your brain. You need to conserve those pleasure chemicals for your study sessions. Not saying that you can’t watch movies or be on social media at all, you just have to control yourself, which is hard but, that’s part of the challenge.

I love that the principle of activation energy is being applied to psychology here. I hadn't considered this outside of chemical reactions before!
