In this video, I'm going to show you how to get subtitles on the BBC iPlayer app. So open up the BBC iPlayer app on your phone and select a TV show to watch. I'm just gonna select anything here on the front screen. And as the TV show starts to play tap on your screen and you should see a speech bubble in the top right corner. Tap on the speech bubble.

And now, you should get an option for subtitles. Just make sure that that is switched on and continue watching your TV show and that will be your subtitles switched on For BBC iPlayer. I hope you find this video helpful. Thank you for watching until next time. Peace.

I take it you can't change the settings for the way the subtitles are displayed? Like you can with most streaming services, disney+, netflix etc. They're too chunky and have a 80's style about them. I'll be sending an email to them as it's a joke that you can't change the style, it's like the old ceefax 888 style and some idiot decided that that the BBC is sticking with it in 2024, same style for over 40 years?? Ridiculous

I can get iplayer subtitles on my laptop but not on my new smart tv. My wife has poor hearing so we are not going to sit around a computer screen watching. I love the BBC but this is shit.
