How To Turn Off Subtitles / Closed Captions On YouTube

Let's remove any of those annoying subtitles on YouTube or change the closed captions to another language on your iPhone or Android YouTube app.

My problem is thats the captions are always on and it's so annoying, i have to keep turning them off.

This does not work for me. I have closed captions off on my iPhone settings and also in the YouTube app (and via pc browser). But every time I open a new video on YouTube that is not in my native language captions are active (even though they are off in the settings). It’s super annoying having to turn off the captions for each and every video.

The captions are always on and it's so annoying because they cannot be turned off, I also dislike these AI voiced videos. YouTube just keeps going downhill and I wish it could be replaced with a system that allows freedom of speech.

Thanks for the video but my YouTube looks NOTHING like yours. When I press on the 3 Dots the choice is "Pop Channels or Privacy" or the vertical 3 dots has "Settings, Your Data in YouTube, Open App, Feedback & Help, all of which are totally USELESS as I've literally spent hours during DAYS trying to turn the damn things Off. My tablet is an Amazon Fire 8" tablet, about 3 years old. Any ideas ? And do Google intentionally make simple "stuff" soooo annoying to fix?

this auto subtitle method by youtube is intentional.. it's not the software engineers fault it's their boss command to do it..

Why the need to enforce them? I can understand English speech, I don't need stupid captions on every video. It's so annoying an off putting. Might ditch Youtube because of it

I can turn off the live captions button but I still get the popup. !!

Then i use a Pc brawser, login, go to settings and stuff, Turn the damn thing off, BUT STILL...

This doesn't work. The captions can not be removed permanently, you have to turn them off in the video. They're defaulted to on
