good info. i would first protect the lines like you did then put a wix 3 port fuel filter in near the carb that has a return to tank to get rid of the air. old school fix that’s been around a long time. Maybe $20

Most vapor lock is are caused by improper venting of the fuel tank, or to be more clear the lack of venting usually a bad gas cap

I had vapor lock happen in an 89 gmc 350 tbi.

I’ve been looking into fixes so thanks. I’ll give this a try. I had no idea tbi would vapor lock.

That's true but also you wanna keep your carb Kool too by adding a small carb spacer between the intake and carb

Clothes pins wooden spring. Attached to metal fuel lines. They act like cooling finns. Radiator shroud in place? Header’s might need rapping reduce under hood heat

Picked up granddaughter and her friend from school, in my ‘73 F-250, and it heat soaked. All their friends watched us sit there, trying to crank the engine, the girls were mortified!!! It got worse when it backfired like a cannon, schools get a bit nervous hearing loud bangs!!

Sometimes that doesn't work trust me on that .the intake manifold transfers heat to carb and you can hear the gas boiling in the carb . So the trick is an electric fuel pump in the frame rail mounted near fuel tank . Depending on motor a 5lb rated fuel pump works best starts to stumble flip switch idiot light on pump on fuel boosted to carb through OEM pump. 1" fiber block doesn't work either .Run Cool makes aluminum vents in different shapes and can be dyed in different colors discontinued shapes discounted..

Hmm I used to always drive cars with carbs on them and I never experienced vapor lock in the summer....I have had my carb freeze up a couple times
