it seems as if for all of the “bad/worst” college essays that have been spoken about through each of these videos seem to relate to people in real life who might actually feel some of these things and this discorages them from simply being their most authentic selves and answering the prompt whole-heartedly. you don’t need to pretend for any of these essays, just be (as cheesy as it sounds) true to yourselves because that’s what really matters not creating this perfect essay where no one will judge you in anyway or find something wrong with it. there will always be someone who finds something wrong with what you do. i think the main thing that this person is trying to convey (although i feel not in the best way) is that when you write your essay you need to be authentic rather than build up a fake version of yourself because it can be seen in the tone of your essay.

Honestly the best type of college essay is to just...write about something meaningful to you. Not about how hard your life was, or how smart you are. Write about your passion.

I took the SAT’s went to a great school and have a great career I got in so I guess I did the right things
