I mean truthfully a good college essay imo and according to my teachers is to write something random that no one would expect, but it should still somehow relate to you and show *you* as a person (qualities, traits, etc).

For my college essay I actually wrote how I absolutely detested the subject and what made it change over time and why I now feel passionate about it

I got a full scholarship by writing about sidewalks. I wanted to transfer to a school in DC because the school I went to was in the mountains. I wrote about how badly I wanted to go; that even the opportunity to be around sidewalks and not dirt trails was exciting. I still included my credentials of course. Anyways, just make it personal but professional.

For my personal essay i've written about how my childhood has played into my responsibility skills as a young adult today; particularly abuse, and the eventual abandonment in the family which led to me having to grow up and learn many vital life skills pretty early on in life- again, specifically responsibility.
