It works like magic for the people who are suffering from anxiety and stress.

Lost my dad mom and wife all within 3 years. I had massive anxiety, depression, no energy. This has saved my life.

I’ve taken 800 mg a day and experienced none of these side effects and actually felt a lil better in the gym

I take Ashwagandha for combat related PTSD. It works.

I think you missed the chance to do the medical test again after 30 days to see where your cortisol levels went. It would be interesting to find out.

Not all ashgawanda are equal, you should take KSM 66 patent version. If dealing with mild cortisol, take lower dose . L theanine works great for mild stress

I think ashwagandha doesn't need to be taken in a high dosage. I only take 300mg (KSM-66), which is half the bottle suggests, and it seems to work great, zero side effects. So for me no need to double or triple that.

I’m not a naturopathic physician but I’ve read that Naturopathic medicine can exaggerate issues prior to treating them. Supposedly is a good sign and means it’s working.

I only take it when I'm having anxiety, I've noticed it works for short periods of time and is only used when necessary. Long period of time does cause anxiety, and other issues.

Hmm.. my understanding was that is is an adaptogen and can modulate depending on what your body needs. I’ve taken an herbal tincture over the years several times —not for anxiety — but to help with fatigue, adrenal, pituitary, thyroid support and it always seems to help. But I take a blend that includes Ashwaganda, Schizandra, Rhodiola, Black Licorice, Holy Basil.

I said similar thing to some of my friends after using it for 3months. It worked good with people with high stress or who are hyper active. But it didn't made me depressed like it did to you...instead it made me more lazy than I already was before

Its working great for me, at a time of immense stress, it is working absolutely well. I tend to wake up 4 or 5 times during the night due to PTSD and anxiety, now i wake up once a night. I started with 1350mg, now with 1800mg at night. Will do it for a few more weeks, before stopping for a while. Do it only when needed.

I tried ashwagadha and I felt exactly the same.

Here is what works for me:
I take a 'small teaspoon with top' of Ashwagandha together with a 'small teaspoon with top' of of Maca and add it in my banana and wild blueberries smoothie.
And I only add these to my smoothies as a pre-workout, only on the days I do weight training, so that's Monday to Friday, and then I keep a break from Ashwagandha and Macca powder in the weekends.
Works really good for me!

Ive tried two separate brands with widely different results. The first time it worked wonders for my adhd and mood especially, but it also ruined a lot of my drive to go and get after it. Being a student at the time, this was not the effect i was looking for. The second time I did about a month of ashwagangda and had zero effects on anything in my life. Mood, adhd, motivational drive stayed at baseline so I'm still on the fence whether this works for me. Maybe I will do a round to compare with a third brand 🤔

I can't believe you didn't show (or maybe didn't test?) your cortisol levels on week 4 of the trial, and again after you took the cortisol booster. If your levels didn't change, your theory is just a guess.

That's strange, it helped me, I think the cortisol levels play a big role. My whole life I've had to stimulate myself physically with exercise and other things in private to keep my mind clear. This helps me with my high cortisol levels that needs worked out of my body with activity. I have irritable mood caused ADHD. I've lost a few jobs because of it, so I try many different things to help my mental health. I'm in a good place right now in my life however.

But it is important to test your cortisol before taking these if you feel fatigued or depression out of nowhere.
