Sounds like some great information here!!! I too am a graduate of JHU. I discovered that I had a hernia back in August of 2022. After talking to 10 doctors, almost all of whom misdiagnosed my symptoms and were fundamentally misguided themselves, I am hoping to meet someone in January of 2023, to finally get some clarity around what's going on. Why does it take so long to get medical attention in the United States? I have no idea. The pain is absolutely real. The solution is just an illusion.

Great info doctor! I was diagnosed with a Left Inguinal Hernia a few years ago when I was 28. I'm 30 now but I literally have had this since I was 14 or 15. I kind of get irritated by it sometimes but I'm honestly just use to it because it's been so long and i THANK GOD it doesn't cause me any pain. Doctor told me based off of physical appearance if I wanted to get surgery on it I could but he said since I said it doesn't give me any pain then I can just live with it. It hasn't caused me any issues honestly just was something that scared me before I got it checked out numerous of times.

I got this too. You don't realize how common a hernia is until it happens to you.

I've had an inguinal hernia for about a year. Caused by weight lifting and general wear and tear. I'm having surgery Monday because the pain has gotten bad enough that even walking can ache pretty bad. I had to leave work to go to the hospital to get it checked out and scheduled for surgery. Turned out I have 2 hernias and I can't wait to get them fixed up.

I'm actually pregnant and have noticed it within the past month. I feel like pregnancy may have caused it maybe because your body goes through alot of hormonal and physical changes. I was confused and my first thought was a hernia but now it's definitely confirmed after this video

Mesh doesn't belong in the groin area. Choose a tension free suture approach. Also make sure you actually have a hernia and not a Gilmore's Groin. I had mesh placed in my groin and I don't believe I ever had a hernia. There was no bulge and the area is still in pain. It's a Gilmore's Groin I know it is.

I've had this for 21 years and both my family Dr's thought I was making it up... fast forward my CT showed an inguinal hernia and my incompetent Dr said I'm ok since it's small..

I disagree completely that "you can return back to work after a few days". I had open inguinal, 3-4 inch cut, and I was walking hunched over and slowly meandering through my home. And even that was a task. Week and a half later and I'm still tender, and dealing with some numbness and sensitive skin the the repair area. Hoping it all comes together in more time, but in my opinion, claiming people are 'back at it' after 2-3 days is reckless.

i have slight pain in the left inguinal region & dragging discomfort in left testicle. There is no bulge whatsoever. I've been living like this for 2 months. Now what is this supposed to mean?

I healed my inguinal hernia without surgery. By choosing
anti-imflammatory (gluten-free) diet with intermittent fasting. It is
possible without surgery.
