How a 2-Stroke Carburetor Works 'Unique Animation'

Very few people know this, but there is a very special Pump inside your Chainsaw Carburetor, and any malfunction of the pump and can cause a whole host of problems (bog, incorrect running and starting issues, to name just some). Powered by the fuel pump diaphragm, this pump is the heart of the 2 stroke chainsaw carburetor.

This uniquely explained animation effortlessly guides you through the working of the Two-Stroke Carburetor. To master engine repair and diagnosis, one must first know how an engines work.

TIMESTAMP:
00:43 - How the Two Stroke Piston works the Fuel Pump Diaphragm
02:09 - How the Two Stroke Carburetor Main-Jet Works
02:15 - How the Two Stroke Carburetor Metering Diaphragm works
02:20 - How the Two Stroke Carburetor Metering Lever works
02:32 - How the Metering Needle works on the Two Stroke Carburetor
02:40 - How the Two Stroke Carburetor Pulse Line works
03:00 - How a 2 Stroke Carburetor works (Unique Animation) 'Easy to understand'
03:38 - A Personal Thank you from Craig Kirkman

Why know these basic fundamentals of the 2-stroke carburettor? Well, lets put that into perspective. When you take your car in to the garage for repair work who do you want to be repairing it? A mechanic of course, but exactly what type? With what background? What experience? What qualifications? Well, the chances are that you will want your mechanic to have both work experience behind them as well as college classroom training where they have gained the fundamentals. Basically, you want them to know your engine inside out! So then, you know the importance of the type of theoretical knowledge explained in this video.

The basics in this video will go a long way to educating yourself on the basic principles of both the four stroke engine and the 2 stroke engine.

Whether you can't start your lawnmower, your chainsaw won't start, your enduro bike needs diagnostic checks, your two stroke engine in general, and so on, you will find it much easier to tackle these issues if you have a basic fundamental knowledge of how engines work. This is a chance to sit back and learn your first steps towards mechanics and engineering.

Many thanks indeed

Maybe it’s just me, but I have a hard time trying to keep up with your explanations because of the speed at which you explain things. I just have to watch them several times to understand them . Love your videos!!

Love your videos. Folks ought to watch the full video. Any chance you could do one on the main inlet nozzle check valve? I couldn't find any good information on it, especially the capillary style (mesh screen - looks like a filter but it's supposed to keep air out from traveling out of the venturi area back into the fuel lines during idle/low throttle. I bet lots of folks would appreciate a little light on that subject. Take care! Brian KF

Amazing as always. I have a small trimmer carb why does it have two hoses going into the gas tank. Three come out of the gas tank. I assume one coming out of gas tank is for air suction. Another to feed fuel to carb. But why two into the carb? A black and green one. Thanks as always

Hi, can you please tell me how the main jet valve works, inside the valve is there some neoprene rubber which would get destroyed when using carb cleaner many thanks.

This would be for pre-mixed only I assume, so how does the oil affect the diaphragms in these? Do they use teflon or something to negate the wear caused by oil on rubber diaphragms?
