I’m 77 and heard about magnesium skin absorption decades ago. Been using a magnesium spray every day, after a hot bath topped off with a cold shower, for years. Still here, still happy. Also intermittent fasting.

A whole bag in the bath is pretty costly. You can easily make magnesium oil from water and magnesium flakes which you can spray under your armpits before bed. It might sting a little in the beginning and don’t use on freshly shaved armpits, because it will feel like it’s burning. Other than that it’s a great cost effective way to absorb enough magnesium. O and it also helps against smells🙌🏼

I use magnesium OIL. It works very well and you have not to take a bath always...😉

2 cups is what I was told. You can also add do a foot soak only and use much less salt. I use magnesium salt for foot baths from the Zechstein Sea just a 1/4 Cup in about a half gallon to gallon of warm to hot water soak for about 20 minutes. I also reuse the soaking water a few times until it gets gross.

I have an epsom salts bath twice a week during my long fasts and use BetterYou magnesium sleep spray every night before bed - only been doing this routine for three months but the improvement to my sleep has been dramatic.

I agree completely! I take a 400 mg Magnesium pill nightly and sleep restful! The very first day I took it, I swear I felt like I had coma-like sleep. It was pretty fantastic!!! Now every night I take it is great, but not coma-like. Either way, I sooo agree with Dr. Pelz!

Dr Mindy, I need progesterone booster asap. Thank you very much for linking magnesium with progesterone rather than just mentioning magnesium- we’re getting a combo 💯.

Can bags of magnesium get expensive to have a nightly bath? I'm not opposed to a magnesium bath but a whole bag?

The whole bag 😂 no. That's $6 a bath

One bag of magnesium per night would cost a person at the price that I pay at Costco a round 2 hundred dollars a month. Most don't have that kind of money for a hot bath, let alone putting food on the table.

Do foot baths

Epsom Salt has become the protagonist of numerous treatments in spas thanks to the large amount of magnesium present in it. Magnesium is a very important mineral for health, especially for its ability to eliminate toxins and support the muscles. Magnesium is easily absorbed through the skin and it is for this reason that Epsom salt has been a valid and effective treatment for personal care since ancient times. The use of this substance for topical use (i.e. through baths, foot baths or wraps) activates a reverse osmosis process through which our body absorbs the minerals present in the salt, releasing a large amount of toxins. Thanks to a treatment carried out with Epsom Salt we can therefore assimilate magnesium and other minerals useful for our well-being.

I disagree that Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) is the preferred magnesium… sulfate tends to encourage more of a detox, my preference is magnesium chloride, which is what they sell as “magnesium flakes”, and what all the good magnesium oils are made from. You can use Epsom salts as well; but if you only get one, go for mag flakes instead!
