I will show you the true Friesian Horse and what they are like: day to day care, training, riding dressage and the very special birthing of foals. I explain the facts about breeding Friesian Horses and the steps I take to help better the breed.

Risey has stolen all our hearts! What a sweetheart!

I rode a horse with an improper gait for 27 years. He was my exploration companion. We rode every inch of backroads, farmland, river and creek banks, and many trips into our little town to the library and cafe Never entered one show, didn't care to. His worth was our time spent together under saddle or lazing around on the sun warmed ground. He lived to be 31 years old. He died on his own terms, not mine. Of course if it had been necessary, necessary would have happened. There is nothing wrong with riding a horse at just a walk, just enjoying the time together. I had other horses for the challenging trails, riding in parades, and the occasional showring (never cared too much for the fancy stuff lol).Enjoy Risey for who he is, as he is. Never let anyone else guilt you for not having a perfect horse. No one knows him and his quality of life better than you. Besides if they were all perfect, those fancy shows would be pretty dull, all the horses doing everything perfect, so I guess everyone would tie for grand champion. Boring. Yvonne, enjoy your perfectly imperfect horse. You don't need to feel bad, or make excuses or apologies for your love of him.

I think once Risey figured out he would get pellets for having his legs sprayed with the water hose he said ok this isn't so bad. I also think he began to enjoy it. Kind of like kids saying they don't want a bath, but once they get in the water they have fun. I hope Risey continues to like water and will let Yvonne give him a full bath and grooming some day. He's so beautiful now, I can just imagine how regal he would look with a full grooming. The shinny reddish color of his coat mixed in with brown tones here and there makes him shimmer like a jewel. He's an amazing horse! ❤❤❤ I remember when he met Uniek for the first time and the older Rein from stal G said "what a little beauty!" Risey is still a beauty! ❤

Risey did a great job of not kicking that piece of fence while pacing away from the water. It seems he has more control of his back legs now. So glad he’s coping well with his condition. I think it helps that he has gentle horse friends, mental stimulation and a loving owner meeting all his horsey needs!
