Why are lifeguards like that? I ask, because this happened to me as a kid, where these two other kids decided to give me swimming lessons for free when they saw how scared I was to go into the water & they pushed me in before I could swim! I go down into the water quickly & black out. Next moment when I wake, our swim coach who gave me cpr that day, made all of us kids promise not to say a single word to the adults or we would all get in big trouble for this. You’re suppose to do what your elders tell ya, right? So, my Mom hadn’t heard of this until I turned 21. I figured by then it was okay. Then she figured out why I was so scared to even take a shower as a kid. (True story from my youth.)

Metal slides are horrible enough by themselves, they heat up in the sun and burn you when you climb the ladder, or go down the slide, let alone when they’re in the fricking atmosphere and being guarded by an angry lifeguard.
