The idea that you know you're gonna die and there's nothing anyone can do is terrifying.

By the way, dehydration(also caloric intake and nutrition) is not the reason people mostly die from rabies. Because that’s easily solved with IV and stomach pumps. But what causes the death, that is not currently curable, is the neurological damage, inflammation, and immune system damage.

It doesn’t make you afraid of water. When you have rabies, consumption of water becomes excruciatingly painful. It’s very tragic

So we’re essentially looking at a dead man

It’s not a literal fear of water. It’s called hydrophobia because it gives off the appearance of fearing water or swallowing, but what it really is is the throat muscles are paralyzed so when you try to swallow you have spasms.

One of our relatives had this problem A dog had cut teeth him but he did not take care, then suddenly he started having such attacks of rabies. When he was admitted to the hospital, the hospital staff tied him up and blindfolded him. And he had completely gone into a coma and put on ventilator and his brain had started melting completely, brain had started coming out of his nose and ears. And he died the very next day. It causes great pain and can lead to death. Whenever a dog bites or any animal bites, treatment should be done immediately.

They aren't just afraid of it, water causes severe spasms for them. Painful ones.

Something I found out while working with rescue dogs. If a dog has rabies, and he's been drinking out of a water bowl before the symptoms start...a worker goes out uses their hand to clean the container with the water in it, then dumps the water out and rinses container and refills with water. If there is the tiniest cut or scratch on that workers hand...they will get rabies just by putting their hand in the water, because the dogs saliva has contaminated that water. Who knew..I started using gloves after that. A state worker that works in that particular department informed me of this.
We took in 9 puppies and one of them had rabies. The lady who adopted it was furious, but how could we have known. The puppy was acting strange to her child, and she was smart enough to contact the state about the puppy 's symptoms. Foamy saliva as well. The puppies were allowed to run around in a large wooded area without having any rabies shots.. before the rescue took them in. The mom and daughter had shots and were just fine. She didn't want another dog, her donation to the rescue was returned to her. Same thing if you put out water for deer, and other animals. Don't use your bare hands to swish in the bucket of water when cleaning it. There's no telling what has drank out of that bucket and what it had. Hope this helps people stay safe.

Has to be one of the worst ways to go. Such a horrific disease 😞 If you ever suspect a wild mammal encounter was unusual and you were bitten, please seek treatment! Rabies is nearly 100% fatal once symptoms appear

I had a sister-in-law who was a nurse in a hospital where they brought in a little boy with rabies she said that was the most horrible death. She ever watched. It just broke her heart.

My dog bit me in 2017 and I started showing symptoms after 5-7 days. I felt so weak that I couldn't stand up to even bath. 7 years later, I'm still alive and strong. Thank GOD

What about the 12 year old girl who survived? Jeanna Giese-Frassetto is now an adult and had twins. When a girl, she rescued a bat from her church, and didn't go to the hospital after it bit her for 2 weeks. When she got there, they placed her under a medicated coma to ease the brain swelling. She gradually got better and 75 days later she was released. The same method has been used in 10 patients worldwide; all recovered.

The end is not far away for this man. This is heartbreaking to watch. May God be compassionate and merciful to him.

Important note for anyone! Rabies is only fatal once symptoms appear. ALWAYS go to the doctor if you’re bitten by a wild animal or a pet that you think has rabies. Once symptoms appear you will die a very slow and painful death and it’s not something you want to risk.
