Fares, I have not seen anything in recent years as advice to avoid this but recall swim coaches in my earlier years suggesting that for each breath in, HOLD IT for perhaps 3-5 seconds, and then slowly exhale in preparation before the next inhalation. Is the hold still advised, or does this undesirably build up CO2 in the lungs?

I have bad allergies. When water goes into my nose it causes problems. What do you recommend for it?

Sorry...How often to Breathe...
Srsly, as an adult attempting to learn, I'm picking up a lot of helpful tips and advice from your lessons, and your information is sensible, and easy to follow, as a student following a teacher. Thanks for your videos!

great video and drills!

In the last drill, is there a difference in which side you breath? (either the one pulling or the side of the arm that's still)
If so what's the difference?

Fares, great video, as always.

I’m concerned about what you said regarding breathing through your nose. I have to use a nose clip because chlorine makes me congested. I also think I’ve seen some Olympic level swimmers use the nose clip.

What can you say about it?

Thanks!

How does one count strokes? Is it:
Left 1, Right 1; L2, R2; L3 etc OR is it L1, R2, L3, R4, L5 etc?

Is the single arm freestyle supposed to be on your side the whole time or do you only rotate to your side when you breathe?

What's happening at 2:20, take the breath, rotate head back into water, mouth open. How to not swallow water doing that?

I must admit that: I didn't realise what I am doing every single day for fun to avoid boredom in the exercise, is correct.

I’m a complete beginner and have completed 5 lessons as of today. I’m getting good at kicking but one thing I am not able to do is to keep my legs up while being rotated like in the 3rd drill (12 kick rotation)

Any advise on how to maintain position and not letting legs sink while being rotated?
