Thanks a bunch for this easy to follow tutorial! Coming from 10 years of Affinity Designer, functions are similar but still different.

Normally I can do a "Nudge Paste" where I use "cntl+nudge" to duplicate the object one nudge worth over. It's the easiest and quickest way to duplicate something in the same spot, because I can then, just nudge it back over into place. The problem is, I can't do this with a text box. Instead it increases or decreases the spacing between letters. Does anyone know of a work around?

Why does software have to be so terrible. Ctrl+J is the command in Photoshop, absolutely no reason for it not to work inside Illustrator when even Affinity Designer copied the behavior for consistency and ease of use. I just switched back from Designer to Illustrator after many years and seeing some fundamental idiocies like this one, or the pixel grid going out of document bounds and fatiguing the eyes - and even worse, not having opacity options as in Designer is truly horrendous. Speaking of which, no simple opacity options in the layers tab either. Adobe, what the hell.
