Thanks for watching! There is a certain magic and mystery in the Delta region that's hard to explain but hopefully some of that comes through in this video.

Being from a town like Alligator, MS, I'm glad I made it out. I read books to occupy the boredom of growing up in an improverished town. Graduated high school, graduated college, got a career, worked in corporate America for 10 years, moved to California, started and maintaining a smoothie business. I've always had to work twice as hard, but I made it, coming from a 37 year old black woman, I always believed I could despite my environment and basic resourcecs. Never give up!

The energy of the lady in Greenville was amazing. These are the type of people who make the world a better place.

Hi Peter, as a southerner, I would like to thank you for the respect that you have shown my region of the country. Too often southerners are negatively stereotyped. Your videos show the beauty, kindness, and unique culture of this region. Thanks.

Thank you for sharing America. The rural poor have been cast down as small minded and evil. I find them to be the most generous and genuine people in America

The Mayor getting in touch with the Dollar General to build a store speaks to his ability as mayor. Good for him! He clearly cares about his community.

I live in Germany. I love your videos because they are the mirror of people, culture and country. No drama, no fancy music, no special effects. Only people and country that talk for themselves.
Thank you!

I live in small town Mississippi and I can say without a doubt some of the best people you’ll ever meet are here! True sense of community! Being a poor state- everyone’s either currently struggling or has struggled before so the sense of empathy is heightened for sure! People will literally give the shirt off their backs! ❤

I have lived in both Alabama and Mississippi. Folks from Mississippi are the nicest I have come across.

I love salt of the earth people like the Mayor, the man in camo and the first gentleman you first featured. They're real honest people.

Peter, your documentation of america opens our eyes that we do not have a racial divide in this country. We have a class divide. Which in most places disproportionately affects black people. When we have communities like this of impoverished white and black people they are all in it together.

I'm a lifelong New Yorker who's barely left here. These videos feel like an outlet for me. They also make me extremely grateful. I complain less about my insanely high taxes when I see a town that strives for a Dollar General Store.

I live in BocaRaton, Florida, the cheapest home is more than $500, 000. There are yachts behind peoples homes, they dont even move. Wealthy people just have friends come over for coffee, sit and talk about remodeling bedrooms that have been remodeled, or buying expensive jewelry just for something to do.When I watch videos like this, I feel guilty. How can I help, I wouldn't even know where to start. We are giving millions of dollars to poor countries outside the US, seems to me that we should help out people in our own country first, our citizens should not live below the poverty level.

RIP to the gentlelady that lost her mom. I lost my mom suddenly too but she was 56. Love your parents while you still have them. Don't wait until it's too late and they are no longer around for you to love on them.

I am 35 and have grown up in southwest Mississippi. My mother grew up in the delta and we still have family there. The battles we face in life makes us the strong people we are. Everyone in Mississippi has had their share of the hard times. We look for ways to make things better and strive to make a difference. Despite setbacks we stay true to being the hospitality state. I have met people that was uneducated, alone, and in poor health but still the kindest people you ever met. We have pride in who we are.

Hi, from Ukraine 🇺🇦
Thanks for sharing videos about true life in the rural areas of the USA.
I think it might help many people to learn more about real American life & understand more about life in general.

I'm French, learnt at the Sorbonne, worked in Europe and America, teach geopolitics and negotiation while running my business : NO book or class even at the top universities will teach you as much as Peter's videos. A massive thank you because it also allows non-Americans to learn how life in the US is :)

The gentleman in the passenger seat with glasses and orange T-shirt deserves a raise regardless of how much he makes. Well spoken, eloquent even. Most of all HE GETS IT. He has a motivation behind what he’s doing. He’s not just interested in a paycheck but understands the long term big picture of the livelihood for his town. And he’s working towards that!

i’m from America, and Peter, you make me want to do what you do. Explore the country even more and I don’t mean tourist spots, but the real America that not many people know about or (unfortunately) care about. You have a passion for this stuff, you have a good heart, and you are a special person. Thank you for what you do, we appreciate you so much!
