I will never forget what I saw in Burundi!
We are in Burundi, which has been the poorest country in the world almost every year for the last 62 years, according to the World Bank, IMF and many other official institutions. Burundi has a population of approximately 12.5 million people and the average monthly income of a working citizen is around $15 there. One out of every 3 citizen is unemployed. Welcome to the world's poorest country.

I am from Burundi 🇧🇮 and I can conform that the majority of the population live like that but they are happy people. They cherish every little thing they have. I am Privileged I was born in a first class family and i have never known any of that life. my parents sent me to canada for studies and i just got a permanent residency status. I pray that one day I can use the knowledge acquired and the opportunity i got to be a Canadian to make a change in my country and help people get a better life. 👏🏾

I wish I was a millionaire so I could go buy every person enough food for a month. It wouldn't be hard for a jeff bezos. I wish millionaires did these acts of kindness personally..

This is so heartbreaking. This makes me realise how good a life we are living. Never complain what we have and live happily

I lived in Kabul, Afghanistan when I was a teenager, because my father worked for USAID. Kabul was not as poor as these people, but I saw a great deal of poverty such as one does not see in the U.S. I think every American, especially young Americans, should see this video. Three or four times, until they understand it. We are so privileged.

I'm so ashamed that I have thought my life is bad because my family is a lot poorer than others in my country (Sweden), but after watching this, I'm extremely greatful for the life I have. My life is like heaven for hundreds of millions of people.

I currently live in Burundi, born there, this is all true, i'm one of the privileged to born in town, imagine in these Times of covid i graduated in 2018 with a baccalor's degree in ICT and Still no job and hustle to make just a living like anybody else you see here in this documentary, because i educated myself due to the internet access i'm sure to have most pertinent information than 95% of the country, i taught myself english that sometimes i Ask myself why i had to born in this country rather than hundreds of other poor countries which are not the poorest because i Saw the different lifestyles that people has in most of the countries in the World but After all i consider myself lucky to have the information, at least i Can dream of a better day, many here dont even know what's happening or happened 200km from where they live for their whole life.remember, be thankful for everything you have whoever sees this.

I'm from Burundi, lived there for 17years and unlike these families in this doc thanks to god and my hard working family that was able to provide and protect me, where I can say I've never missed a meal in my life. I feel for my country and when I make it, my first flight will be back home to help my people.

This is heartbreaking. To see the kids enjoy their lives, playing with something as simple as a plastic bottle car… and to see some of the adults be happy regardless of their situation, makes you think twice about not being grateful for the what you have in your own life. Be grateful.

what horrible conditions, but having 8, 9, 10 children is just crazy, to me it's a form of cruelty to bring children into the world knowing they will suffer, it's reckless and will just lead to more suffering

Bless these people. Even living in circumstances that seem unimaginable to most of us, I saw so many genuine smiles and warm hospitality. I hope they see better days ❤

I grew up in Burundi for over 17 years and during all these years my dad only had an actual job for 6 months and that was back in 2008, after he lost his job we were still able to live an average life like Paying rent, eating 3 meals a day and many more. I’m grateful for all the memories that I had with my country and there are all good ones. Now I live in Pennsylvania and I’ve been here for 3 years. Some Americans always complain about some small stuff but based on what I’ve been through I see everything here as a child play

Well I’m planning to go back and hold a banquet with my people in like 3 to 4 years
If you’re coming with me just let me know

I grew up poor in the USA. I would watch stuff like this on TV and my mom would tell me stories about being poor in El Salvador, so I always had a great appreciation of what I had here in the US. Even if I was poor here, I was still way better off than poor in some other country.

As an American, I feel ashamed for the way I’ve lived my life. This video really brings light to how blessed I am.

I lived in Burundi for 2 years and a half working as a humanitarian worker. I learned a lot with the people of Burundi, met a lot of nice people there and I am grateful for that.
