There is a custom map called "Maple Rapids" and its an interesting challenge as instead of too little water, there is so much that any attempt to block more than half a block will flood everything. I have a nicely established colony but I'd love to see how you handle it!

With the new update, you can set your inventor huts and hauling posts etc. to a lower employment priority, meaning beavers will only work there if there is nowhere of a higher priority to work. This means you can pause your engineering jobs and beavers will work in the huts, and when the water returns you can unpause the industry and the beavers will return

Hey Matt, a tipp for the next season (if you'll do one): build levees/dams at the rivers exit on the map. This way, you'll have much more water secured during a drought
