My Husband said " We are LEAVING THE CITY for COUNTRY LIFE" and that is what we did. He built a 600 sq ft log cabin on 11 acres and now we grow most of our own food and live 100% off of rain water lol with NO PUBLIC UTILITIES .. This is actually the life I always wanted to live but didn't know it =)

About OFF GRID with DOUG and Stacy
In 2010 we decided to sell everything and build a log cabin on 11 acres. We have lived in the log cabin for a decade now with no solar power or wind power plus zero public utilities. We live like the pioneers except in the 21st century. We post videos on social media to encourage people to return to the land and make a living with your family. We teach folks:
*Off grid living *Rain water catchment *Cooking with wood
*Food growing *Cooking from scratch *Raised bed gardening
*Food harvesting *fermenting the harvest *food preservation
*Holistic Remedies like Grandma made *How to make money and live this life
*storing food in a root cellar *DIY Build projects
*Animal Husbandry *Raising Chickens, Guinea, Turkeys and Ducks
All of our videos are made to empower you to break free and LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!

This was a big encouragement for me…in a couple of months I am moving to an off grid property at 70….by myself. Thank you for sharing..

I’m pushing 60, working harder than ever, more stress than ever, etc. I’m kind of choked up right now because this is the way my dad always wanted to live and now I fully understand why. The pace of the city is so toxic and unhealthy for us all. 💝 Thank you so much.

Stacy you had me in tears. My wife and I have a little over a year and we will be traveling and living off grid. You and Doug have been and still are a big influence for us to want to live better and healthier. Love you both..

I just found your channel by accident this evening. And, I’m so thrilled that I did. This was a beautiful video. I think you are a beautiful person and great example of who God created us to be as individuals and mankind. Getting back and giving back to nature, and enjoying the beautiful creations of God is so precious. And so many of us take it for granted, some times by choice and sometimes because we have no choice. You are an inspiration. I look forward to learning how to be a better mother, wife, homemaker and overall person from watching your videos. Much love. ❤️

Wow. You just don't know how powerful a message this was. Thank you so much. I moved off grid two years ago after watching Doug. In the video he said why wait, just do it, and I did. I'm still doing it and have never been happier. Thank you Doug and Stacy for your advice, love, and constant encouragement. I know that we don't know each other but over the years I've come to love and respect you both like family. God bless

You have touched my heart. I do not believe my husband and I can homestead or be off grid but we can live as self-sufficient as possible.
From gardening to bees.
Thank you for your honesty and pearls of wisdom.

I just started watching this channel and I can't believe she's almost 60!! She looks like she could be in her early 40s or even late 30s. It's amazing what a little bit of natural living can do!

Stacy - I was making my own toothpaste with coconut oil, clay, baking soda etc for about 3 yrs when I saw your recipe for tooth powder and tried it. I LOVE IT! What a wonderful recipe. I have made up tooth powder for friends using your recipe (clove flavor is my favorite) My deepest appreciation for sharing it with us all! Lucy

I loved getting to know your story better! Seeing you get choked up when you were talking about being close to nature really made me see how special it can be 💜

I know what you mean about finding your joy. My place is our swing by our pond. When I let the chickens and ducks out in the mornings, I sit on the swing and watch the ducks, listen to the birds and say my prayers ❤️ It’s so peaceful and stress free 🌻

Enjoy life and you will be a happy person. I think people in cities are missing the best of life. Being disabled I look back at all the opportunity I had but never went down that path. I grew up with my grand parents while my parents worked. They farmed had 3 gardens and my best memories are helping in the gardens. We canned food to eat all winter long it was great and we were healthy people. My grandmother seldom bought anything from a store other than salt and flour. We churned butter, butchered our meat it was great times. We didn't have material things but lots of love and joy.

Stacy you are the reason I am happier then I have ever been. We bought a farm in Wisconsin you would remember me by the dumb chicken feet comment. Lol Ever day is a new adventure just like you said. We aren't offgrid but we have chickens, garden 41 acres of land. You and Doug inspired us so much we moved and left the city in Colorado and now breath fresh air and love it. ❤ thank you both!

This is awesome. You live the life I have always dreamed of. Now I am 65 years old, and I am probably too old to make it happen now. I do like to play in the dirt, and I have learned so much watching your videos. God bless you two. 🙏 ❤🤗

I really like the advice of not setting expectations. Too many times we set ourselves up for failure by setting too high of expectation and or goals.just go out there and enjoy yourself

I love the simplicity of life. We moved from the Netherlands to Norway. We are not off gridd, but we try to do a lot of things ourselves. And most of all, to enjoy the little things in life. Thank you so much for teaching us.❤❤

Oh Stacy you did so much with the farmstead. You and Doug work hard with the land. Your animals are like your family. I admire everything you do.

Thanks Stacy, for being so good natured and sharing a little bit about your life on the homestead. We admire the strength/the ups and downs of pioneer living. Absolutely, love it!
