The lighting kinda ruined that shot of Maria in the jail cell for me. There's something unsettling about how you can hardly see her eyes in the original due to the hard contrast of the light vs shadow that's not present in the remake with the softer lighting.

The voice delivery of Maria in the original silent hill 2 trailer is far better.

Maria seems to be less expressive with her face, her being seductive and sexy is part of why Maria character is so memorable & so well written, being the partner that Mary couldn't be to James.

"I'm not your Mary." doesn't hit as well this time. I'll never forgot the shift in the tone of voice the actress made in the original game. Overall, the trailer has me more intrigued to play the remake.

2:10 They missed that sudden change of expression and tone in Maria's face and voice in the original SH2 trailer. If you watch the original carefully you notice how she goes from “oh, honey” character to “who tf is this Mary you keep talking about?” 😒

And... Why tf does she look and sound so old? 😭

The polishing of this and the campiness still work well together. It feels less jarring but still strange in its own way. It’s looking great.
