Saw 4 Jovian moons with an inexpensive 4โ€ reflector years ago when I was about 14. I have loved astronomy to this day (Iโ€™m 68 now)!

Io is one of the last places to find life. Itโ€™s a hyper volcanic, radiation soaked hell scape.

Yes, last night, finally, for the first time in almost 2 months we had a few hours of clear skies. Set up the Redcat 51 and WO32mm guide scope on my AVX w/ asiair+ and 294mm. Got to see Jupiter and two large moons for my first time. Also, Uranus, Mars, Reigl, and Betelgeuse. Absolutely amazing. Now the next day and cloudy again but can't stop thinking about last evening. All of this expensive equipment actually worked, and PA was a breeze. So physicked that I could select an object and the asiair app would slew to it, plate solve, and lock on, and from my living room PC (desktop). Really looking forward to more clear skies!

It's so weird, I'll go outside at 5:30 just to see how earlier jupiter is visible and it's never visible no matter how low the sun is on the horizon but once the sun falls and leaves that ocean blue before night, it's there bright as day. In other words I'll look up at 5:50 everyday and see nothing but I can always see it at 5:57
