Wonderful, thank you! When the room is not „perfect“ you can use a SPL Phonitor for headphones. You get a sound with crossfeed like monitors. But it is important zu check with monitors in addition because on monitors you can identify reverb, delay and the depth better.

Hi Ian.

Thank you for all the invaluable information. I was hoping you could help me try to master in my home studio set-up, not perfect but some acoustic treatment. I use Tannoy Gold 5 monitors, as i am in a 9' x 9' x 8' room and dont think bigger speakers are appropriate? I'm currently mastering my own music in Ozone 9 (with mixed results!). I try to adhere to the lufs/peak levels etc but when i compare my music to professionally produced music, mine falls short, level-wise?? Also, can you advise as to how i can include the relevant meta data on the cd's, prior to release?
