Thank you very very much! I've called AC guy and told him the symptoms of my a.c and this guy told me my a.c compressor is locked and need to change the whole unit will be better. He told me $4500. Man!, I've freaked out and followed your video and fixed it by my self. It was capacitor, it looked fat on the top so I called many HVAC supplies because a lot this companies only sell to licensed contractors. I've just paid $33 and works like champ. Today is June 3, 2020 and much thx from Houston, Texas.

I used your troubleshooting steps, narrowed it down to the capacitor (complete with the bulged top), found a part locally and did the replacement with the video instructions. My A/C dropped on a hot weekend and all my estimate calls for emergency service were at least $300. I took care of this repair on my own for $25 in parts that same day and my A/C sprang to life. THANK

4 years late but this video is timeless. Another satisfied YouTube viewer. Our AC stopped working yesterday. House got up to 90! We were worried we would have to wait until Monday to call for service and then they would probably be so busy. We’d have to wait longer. Watched this video. Signs led to the capacitor. Went to Ace and picked one up for $18. We are back in business. Yeah! 🥶 💨

Brother you saved my family from heat torture. No one was available to take a look at my ac for 4 days out. Watched your video and found capacitor was toast. Swapped the part and we have cold air back. Bless you man. Appreciate the video.

Thank you for creating this video; you are a natural educator. After watching, I felt confident that replacing the capacitor was within my ability and, once I was able to track one down, I had it up and running in an under an hour. With a heatwave coming, you have saved my family from heat-induced misery.

You just saved me hundreds of dollars today. The capacitor costed $21, replaced it in less than 10 minutes, air kicked right back on. Thank you!!

Thanks for this. Because of you, I had the courage to take off the cover, figure out the capacitor was blown, take pics of the wiring, find the part locally for $10, turn off all the electricity, and make the switch. My 22 year old unit is now running perfectly. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

Great vid: No unnecessary talking, yet his how to check/fix the air compressor was easy to understand and visually covered every important detail.

1) I discovered your vids yesterday afternoon after work
2) Ordered a capacitor overnight from Amazon
3) Woke at a 11 am, watched this, got the tools, and went outside
4) I'm finished, and sitting in nice cool air at 11:55 a.m.
5) Set reminder to cancel Monday afternoon repair appt

You sir, are so talented and generous. Thank you again, and I'm about to share your vid with my friends. Keep being awesome! :)

Thank you for this video. My husband was able to replace the capacitator in our unit & its working fine again. The description you gave on what the problem was, was spot on. And your instructions were very easy to follow. Saved us some money & a week's wait time for an appt w a professional. So grateful especially since temps are going into the low 100's this week. The house got up to 80 inside (overnight & all day w no AC).

I couldn’t fix it myself but you gave me enough information to narrow down the problem and be informed when I got it serviced. Resulting in the cost not being inflated and they cut cost where it was possible. I really believe going out there and knowing what they were doing helped this grandma. ❤️😄

I know this video is 3 years old, but I found it last night. We used this video to diagnose and fix our AC in the heat and humidity of Arkansas summer. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It cost us $7 to get a new capacitor from a local wholesaler. No telling how much it would have cost us to call a technician out!! You saved us time and money and it is SO appreciated! Keep up the good work!
