A/C went out after several power outages due to a storm with lights flickering intermittently. I waited about 10 min and turned it back on and nothing. I reset the breakers, waited about 15 minutes, turned it back on, and in about 5-6 minutes I had a/c again.

I just replaced a 15 year old Lennox XC16 5 ton air conditioner from 2009 it was matched with a Lennox gas furnace.the 1st time in July 2022 the high pressure switch tripped on the air conditioner.”
Then last summer on Friday July 7th 2023 the fan miter went out because of storms that night before, I don’t like variable speed motors, because they always break and cost way too much to replace it. I also had a6 year old Goodman air conditioner.”4 ton from 2018, the Goodman air conditioner had a Lennox electric furnace. It cooled okay not great, I got new who’s air conditioners and heating installed.”
I had a brief power outage, due to severely thunderstorms in the area. Thank god my upstairs air conditioner kicked on at 7:27pm this evening!!

Do This:
fan outside blowing cool air instead of warm. compressor is off. (also thick gas line is not cold)
Inside home set Therm to OFF and Fan to ON
wait 2 hours for compressor to cool down
Set Therm back to COOL and AUTO

Put on time delay switch/relay set to 2-3 minutes and should be ok

We just had two power outages, and the second time, the AC started humming. I'm afraid the outage fried something.
