My cat was having UTI problems 3 times a year. Switched her to a wet food diet and she is fine now, more energetic & playful. Cats in the wild do not eat dry food.

I don't think you should ever resort to feeding only dry food because of convenience to the owner. Wet food provided a variety of health benefits to cats, and if your only excuse is that it is inconvenient, then you should not own a cat. That's like if I only feed my kids McDonald's because that's what's most convenient for me.

My cat is 22 years old. He eats dry and gets wet food whenever he asks for it. Most of the wet gets thrown when he doesn't eat it all.
Whenever we sit down at the dinner table he paws and begs so we give him whatever he will eat because..hey..hes 22. he has earned it.

When I first got my kitten I did not know the debate over dry food. We bought her dry food and wet food so she could have different textures/variety. When I realized there was this debate about dry food can cause problems I was very worried about giving her dry food. However, my kitten has never had any issue with drinking water. I see her at her water bowl several times a day. Also I add water to her wet food (she prefers her wet food extra wet and doesn’t enjoy it if it isn’t soupy!) So with the water she gets I don’t see a problem with giving her dry food.

The vet knows what she eats and doesn’t have a problem.

I just soak my cats dry food in water with homemade bonebroth. A few days a week I add other stuff I freeze in portion sized ice cubes (water canned sardines, eggs, chopped chicken liver, chopped chicken breast, plain yogurt, goat milk) I occasionally feed canned and buy it at Sam's to keep stocked so if I run out of her toppings I have something to mix with it. Any processed pet food isnt great but dry food can still be made better to avoid paying more for canned food that's half water already.

I recently discovered that after stopping kibbles in my 12 yr. old kitties diet, she stopped throwing up every few days, including fur balls. I have read that kibbles are hard for them to digest due to the higher carb content. This can also cause the onset of kidney disease. Callarina has always had the top of the line food without preservatives or chemicals for both wet and dry. Prior to this, she started losing weight, so I had her examined at the vet and she remarked that she could not believe she was 12 as most cats her age looked much older and have health issues. I told her I follow a few holistic vets who do not recommend vaccines, except for rabies for outside cats, as they tend to cause other health issues and are hard on the liver. I know this goes against regular vets recommendations. Plus, I brush her daily, feed her the best food I can buy, and use a stainless steel pet fountain for water. For us, this works extremely well. I replaced the kibbles with new wet cat food from Orijen that contains incredible ingredients along with bone broth that greatly helps increase cats hydration levels. Callarina is CRAZY about this wet food! Now she has gained her weight back, no puking at all, and wants to play a LOT! Now Orijen wet cat food isn't cheap, but worth it to me as Cali has no health issues at 12 yrs old.

My cat is underweight, and will only eat dry food. She's a happy cat and play a lot but I'm worried about her weight. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. She's my heart and I can't imagine life without Thanks in advance...🐈🐈😸 I have several other cats and they all eat wet and dry food. She just won't have anything to do with the wet.

My cat's teeth are much better once she's on wet food. She's more energetic and her coat is silkier. However, being raised on dry food diet for the first 5 years of her life, I was not able to completely wean her out of dry food. So I do about 50/50 wet/dry. Goal is to put her on low carb and high protein diet.

I am vegetarian and I don’t think I’ve craved chicken as much as when I give my cat wet food. That smells so good and I bet it tastes good for cats too.

My cat is going to be 17 this year. The vet said I should feed him wet cat food, but my senses are highly sensitive. Last time someone gifted me wet cat food as a treat for him, I started gagging and retching while trying to feed it to my cat. I could smell it across the room. My whole condo smelled like wet cat food.

I cook premium grass fed and finished steak and pasture raised chicken for my cats and that's all they eat .its really expensive but they look amazing and its worth it :)
