You’re spot on on the visor being short and not being able to extend it. It’s easy to modify and I don’t know why Toyota has cheaped out on it. Other than that it looks like a winner

Well done one of the very few who suggest not to waste money on the up market specifications that really makes no real difference in the big picture of ownership.👍

I've arranged with my local Toyota to view next week. They require a NZ$2, 000 deposit when ordering. Toyota New Zealand charges $44k for the GXL Hybrid.

The autopark and narrow dimensions really help with city parking whilst remaining spacious enough for shopping and the pram.

I cancelled my RAV XSE order once Corolla Cross was released. Corolla Cross sizing is better for tight city parking spaces I need to deal with. I cannot afford a high quality EV so a quality hybrid engine 2.0 is a good option for now. Considering it’s going to cost $50K I do worry about it’s future value post 2030 when there are a lot more EVs on Australian roads. I agonise over whether to stick with my 2016 Mazda 3 and drive for another 10 years. It’s so hard to know what ICE used car market is going to look like in 10 years.

I’ve been eyeing this car a while and wasn’t sure if I should pay more for the dearer models. But if the main difference is leather or heated seats and a sun roof, I reckon the base hybrid will be the winner for me! Thanks for the review.

3:17 did the fuel economy actually end up better than advertised?

It showed 6.4L/100km in the video at 2:17. That's way too high.

My god they will sell so many of these if they can actually make enough to meet the demand.

Checking Toyota Japan webisite and find that, the 2022 facelift Corolla Cross [4WD, 1.8L + Motor, Hybrid] with old 7 inches driver display is 3, 199, 000 Yen, which is less than 34, 000 AUD. While in Australia, the entry leve GX, FWD, 2.0 L Hybrid is almost 40, 000 AUD comparing to the entry level in Japan, only 2, 590, 000 Yen, which is less than 27, 500 AUD.

You didn't mention the impressive app that allows you to remotely start it, turn on the air-conditioning, lock, unlock, windows up/down, even beep the horn!

How sadly it is. In indonesia we dont get EPB (pedal parking) and available in FWD only. And then we must spend budget for 45.000 U$. 😢

Not sure the point in comparing this to the Corolla car. It’s like comparing a rav4 to a Camry. People will either be shopping for a sedan or an suv. Not both

Looks like a Ford Escape from 2010 at the back

Had a look at one today. It’s designed around short people. I had to manually lower the seat to see under the rear view mirror. When my wife got in had to raise the seat. Then I sat in the back seat. My head was 2 inches away from the side of the roof. It’s that silly pinched back. My 2006 forester has a similar footprint but does not have these problems.
