They could have made the bottom portion a rotation lit and make the battery easily removable. So you could replace the battery as easy as you can with a flashlight

I love Apple products and all but… BUT there should be a world-wide Law the would force Apple to make products if not 100% reparable at least 100% battery replaceable!

The stems should unthread from the airpods and be replaceable batteries. Kind of like an old e-cig battery. They'd probably even make more money in the long run selling the little batteries for $25 a pair or whatever price they come up with.

Its frustrating and costly (sometimes)enough to repair that you might as well get a new one. That's exactly what Apple wants.

Apple doesn't design Airpods to be repairable. Look at what you have to go through to replace the battery. How much glue do you need to keep that battery in place?!

my takeaways after my first repair: 1. if you don't have those specific pliers to pull out the battery you can either pull the tab of the other terminal or if it breaks solder a wire onto the top of the battery and then pull out; 2. careful with the air reflow stations as they produce 100* only at a certain distance. Got too close to mine and melted it a bit :D

Looking at that Apple could have made that user replaceable by making the silver end unscrewable like a torch. But they chose to screw over the consumer. They actually made it harder to construct so people could not replace that battery.
