I used one of these cases for about 2 years when I lost a case previously. They absolutely do work and are worth it. The quality is basically exact same although the amount of battery capacity is about a third of the original.

A watch out is if the AirPods are not only charging in the case, but also not connected while in the case. I have two sets of AirPods and if I put the wrong ones in the wrong case they connect when they charge up.

The AirPods usually depend on their self not the case. You can try changing AirPods to another case then to another. They will pop-up as they were before, But sometimes some cases don’t charge the actual AirPods and sometimes you have to put them in their original case (even if it is an fake one) to charge them and connect them. This could be a temporary fix, But depends on your luck.

Yeah, but that case is probably a lot less milliamp hour battery and also is clearly much more breakable

It may charge them but the thing is is how long does it take to charge with that case VS the original case.
