I'm pretty sure that's how they're supposed to be used.

I've ALWAYS done it that way. Who hasn't?!

I've found that flux helps a ton in getting the solder to flow into the connection. Without it sometimes the solder only sits on the outside of the connection

I use these all the time as they will give you the best connection. BTW the info you are putting out is exactly what the instructions on the kit tells you to do. What it doesn't tell you to do is to coat the wires with flux before assembling and heating the connector. This will prevent a cold solder joint. Kudos for educating people on the proper use of the connectors.

Literally the manufacturer instructions but good on ya for uploading, most people won't bother to Read the instructions.
I work in automotive industry.

I just happen to use one of those the other day and I did the same thing. It does work better. You know, without a doubt, you got a good connection.

My problem with these is probably due in part to user error and manufacturing margin of error. I've had too many where the solder refuses to melt before the heat shrink tube either tears or burns. I would rather use traditional shrink tube and manually solder my connections, I can make my connections just as strong and significantly smaller.

I think its a big upgrade and a great tip on your demonstration.
I must have a dozen crimpers that after a few uses they don't align and get floppy.
I will be trying these out for sure.

For auto repair space is often a premium. Crimp and seal, old fashioned solder and weatherproof heat shrink or the open barrel crimps with hear shrink are my go to. These work and the pre twisting is a good idea.

I'm a boater, using similar connectors for 30-40 years. Good idea.

I've only used these a few times for testing purposes, but this is exactly what I found worked the best.

Good tip actually! I've only used these once in my life and usually stick to solder and heat-shrink tubing but it's handy to know these little tips.

Absolutley LOVE using these. I've been using them on my job, before they were available to the consumer. Best thing since sliced bread.

I love them. I use a small torch to melt them instead of a heat gun though, it makes it easier to melt the solder quick before the wire around it heats up too much

I purchased an exact kit like yours and one end got a good strong connection while the other end was weak. Your way is better. Thanks for the tip.

I love that these are getting more common and cheapo in normal stores. I remember few years ago electricians showed me those and I was blown away lol. The german clicky connectors are great as well.
