Can you use a tea towel or something similar made of cloth instead of paper towel? I've read where people say the paper towels can catch fire.

im doing my first batch of black garlic using a slow cooker on the warm setting, im 3 days in and starting to get a slight burnt smell, is this normal, i wrapped most of the garlic in 1 big parcel then seperate heads, all in 3 wrappes of foil ... thanks and hi from nth australia
