I had a moment of panic in the car listening to this as I wasn't sure which WD ssd I had in my system, but thankfully I have a the sn850x, so I am safe

i'm 100% for introducing a law that makes software companies criminally responsible for crap like this

I have an sn770 and had no idea of this issue until seeing this vid, was luckily still on the previous version so I paused updates. These types of shorts will always be a great service to the community. Thanks!

Me, on windows 7 :

Pros :
No updates

Cons :
No updates

EDIT : Stop the war ! Windows 7 is better than 10 and 11 in my opinion, dont argue about it .

The moment I saw western digital, I held my breath.
Then I saw SN770 and I was mildly relieved.
And then came the SN580's and I almost screamed because I have 2 SN850X's.
Those were 2 solid seconds of me actively moving my mouse towards the cogwheel while thinking "I'm pausing windows updates right now for a whole month".

No surprise. My WD 2TB external was bricked the second I installed Windows 11. Thanks for explaining why though.

Are they stopped testing Windows 10 at all?
How you possibly can rollout an update to a software used by most users in the world and not test it on popular hardware!?

Everyday I’m reminded that building a new pc and installing windows 10 on it was the best decision I ever made

This, and many other issues that have been found, are the reasons why I have not updated any of my machines to 24H2. I did do a clean install on a spare drive to give it a try. It was fine for half a day. Then it began freezing completely about 20 seconds after showing the desktop. That was the sign to keep holding back for at least a few more months.
Especially considering that my productivity PC boots off of a WD SN770

As an owner of laptop with Windows 11 with 24H2 with no ssd, I see this as an absolute win

I’ve had it with Microsoft’s Bs. I finally bit the bullet and installed Ubuntu on my gaming pc. Honestly I’m blown away by the proton feature of steam. So far all my windows games I’ve installed are running flawlessly including Microsoft games like the master chief collection and Halo infinite. At this rate I’m not switching back

I don't know if I'll ever get tired of Linux just passively accumulating Ws like it's Luigi on steroids

It's weird to think that Photonicinduction's washing machine video is the gift that keeps on giving forever on the internet.

This is one of the most used DRAM less NVMes there are.
Case in point, I have three of them I think.
