Single Mum of 5 Has Never Had a Job -Living Off Benefits | The Fairy Jobmother | Episode 6 | Origin

Hayley has come to Southend to set up a work club for four unemployed women who say they want her help to get off benefits into full-time employment.

54 year old Sue Riches has been out of work and claiming incapacity benefit since having a nervous breakdown 4 years ago, but says she now feels ready to re-enter the work force.

21-year-old Chelsé Cooper, a self confessed workaholic, has always had jobs since leaving school, but was forced to sign on for the first time in her life when she was made redundant two months ago.

43 year old, Dee Miller - a single mum with 5 kids - has never had a full-time job, but now her youngest has turned 7, the government expects her to actively seek employment or face losing her benefits.

23 year old Lianne Langley is stuck in a rut. She has been out of work for 3 years, has nowhere stable to live and spends her days hanging around with a crowd of friends who are also unemployed.

This might sound silly but this series really helped me with my own job search! I was with several employment agencies and none of them were helpful much, one was downright awful. I have a disability and I really needed some guidance. I thought that the employment agencies would be like this lovely woman but nope! So I just used these videos to guide myself along as if Hayley was with me lol Well, something must be right because I got my first job at 26 (Better late then never!) and I've been there for a year now! ^_^ So thank you Fairy Jobmother!

I love how she runs the girls through mock interviews so they know what to expect and how to deal with things, so they don't go into things blind. Shes giving skills rather than handing it to them.

Man we need to put more efforts into getting people educated in fields that actually have jobs. This show is very heartwarming and I wish them all the best so I'm not complaining but damn the thought of how *difficult* it is for some people is painful

This whole program is brilliant!! Hayley is just the person that countless thousands of young people really need. If I was running a program like this, I would insist that every applicant commit to completing a health education program. Nowadays people are totally ignorant about how to look after their health, and it is reflected in obesity, and absenteeism.
