Steve’s son-in-law, Ben Raymond, has dedicated himself to breaking the cycle of fatherless boys going down the wrong path, one family at a time. As a way to pay it forward, Ben makes a house visit to help a single mom Carrie, who is having a difficult time raising her two teenage sons.

My dad was a mentor to my three children. that is why they are good citizens today productive, respectful law-abiding. thank you dad he is not with us but his teaching is remembered.

there's things a woman can't teach a boy, and things a man can't teach a girl. it's sad that there are so many single parents out here that aren't getting any help. 😔

ive been a single mum for 20 plus years and tryed to reach out to my brother to be a part of my sons lives with no joy, ive reached out to the church who have not wanted to get involved so ive soldiered on and raised my sons the best i could, telling them that they are champions and with Gods help can do anything. I still struggle to relate at times as a mum.
I went to church today and they preached about how important it is to be affirmed by your parents growing up and how fatherless children dont grow up with a identity and wont understand their purpose in God due to a lack of affirmation from a Father, both my sons dont go to church but they watch me live a godly lifestyle. I came back from church feeling broken in my spirit because i knew both my grown sons never had the affirmation and now they are in thier 20, s its so hard being a godly single mum at times?

Steve I agree. Sons do need their father/male figures in their life. However, the next show should reflect "STOP BEING DEAD-BEAT DADS. LEAVING THE MOTHERS TO RAISE THE CHILD(REN) BY THEMSELVES!!!!" That's a MILLION DOLLAR show. #realconversations

Men who walk away from their children especially their male children don't know the damage they are doing. Lord help the male child who has no one to mentor them.

This should be captioned “Fathers need to hear this!” Men, you all need to hold each other accountable for leaving us single moms to raise these children on their own. I know there are single moms who make it impossible, but that’s a different children. Men get away with too much!

Im 33 and never knew my father.

The older I get, the more I realize I never progressed the way I was intended to. All because I didn’t have a father figure in my life. Mom cared about me, but she didn’t know, or didn’t want to know the consequence of not addressing her sons future situations….

Being a single mom is like some words dont come easy. For me Im a single mom to two sons.their Dad died 9yrs ago when they were still toddlers and I dont have a job.My parents seperated and I grew up with my dad.But my dad died after my husband and we have no one to lean on. In my country, we women are classified as nobody.especialy when our husband dies they can easily turn around and chase us out of our land.It is a long story ofcourse but to cut it short I just left them with my small brother who is attending college this year and I came to the main city which we only trevel by plane to find a living for the sake of my children.now its allmost a month and two weeks and I feel my heart is tearing into peices💔 but I allways Pray to find peace and strenght. If you are a christian reading this please support me in prayer.May God bless your heart. From Papua New Guinea🙏

I graduated in 2003 with no guidance or knowledge on how to date correctly. There was no youtube back then to teach us how to choose the right person, nor was there any positivity growing up. Which contributed to me being naive.

I've legit met men raised by single mothers. They are some of the most emotional people i've met. I've had to tell one of them to stop crying every time he talks about his problems.

single moms? this should be pointed towards ones who are childless and dating horrible men who would abandon them once they are pregnant
you can "warn" them after the fact

I was raised by a single parent and still am, ended up writing and publishing a book titled "MY STORY OUR STORY" about a young girl questioning the realities of being raise without her father present it is my story and also a story of all kids around going through a similar situation, in this journey we need to be tenacious, courageous and resilient. #buildingresilientus #SteveTVShow #SteveHarvey

In this day and age I believe that what a lot of women struggle with is choosing the right person for our sons to immolate. It is not that we don’t realize that we don’t have the tools but we live in a society where 90% of abuse in this country comes from the hands of someone that not related to the child. So that means it could be the paster, the football coach the deacon the new boyfriend/husband. We fear that bringing someone in that could hurt them could be more detrimental the not having someone to emulate .
