Pretreating Laundry Stains with Dr. Bronner's

See how I pretreat laundry stains using Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds.

Mothering for me has been a crash course in stain management. I definitely underappreciated the relative stainlessness of my earlier adulthood. I expected certain obvious stain culprits – ketchup, blueberries, bodily fluids. But others took be by surprise: bananas, watermelon, smashed peas. And then there was that time a green crayon found its way into the dryer…

All that to say, I’ve spent a lot of time on this. And the best way I’ve found to eliminate stains is with undiluted Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds directly on the stain. The earlier you can get it on, and the longer you can let it sit, the better the results. But this has even worked on set-in stains that I’ve been slow to discover.

Sal Suds cleaner shows greater than 60% biodegradation after 28 days per ISO 14593.

Ik this is tmi but I’m a woman so I pre wash my underwear. I wash them after use, let them dry and then throw them in the dirty clothes. Sometimes as a woman my cycle changes and I have accidents. THIS SOAP REMOVES BLOOD STAINS LIKE I'VE NEVER SEEN. I love washing my clothes with this soap.

I’m glad someone else uses it to treat stains, great video.

I hope regular Dr. Bronner's soap works ok, too. We're building a home without septic or sewer, thus will use greywater for trees and garden. Sal Suds has SLS which isn't good in greywater, but regular Dr. Bronner's is excellent for greywater.

I used Dr. Bronner Castile soap to remove stains, but unfortunately it discolored the shirt on the spot I treated. I left it on during the night, was that too long? TIA for a reply.

Why do you have to rinse out? Aren’t they going into the wash?

How best to treat old grease/oil stains that have gone through the dryer?

I use Dr. Bronner peppermint liquid soap to wash my hair and the baby unscented on my face, I really love them. I have them in travelling size bottles because I travel a lot. My question is, am I suppose to dilute them with water? Because I noticed the top of the bottles that I have them in keeps getting clogged and the liquid soap cakes up acround the top and i have to use a toothpick to unclog them.

Where do you find the pump in your gallon bottle? I'd love to have that option. Is it a standard size?
