DR. BRONNER’S LAUNDRY DETERGENT - A Dry Cleaner’s Review

This is a dry cleaners honest review of @drbronners and Sal’s Suds (when it comes to laundry).

Overall both disappointed me quite a bit when it comes to stain removal. Dr. Bronners performed very poorly and only removed 50.7% of stains while Sal’s Suds did better but only removed 54.4% of stains. This means both soaps are in the D-Tier which is very much at the bottom of the list.

The main takeaway from this should be that this is a very universal soap that can handle a wide array of cleaning problems. Because of this functionality it’s going to struggle in applications like laundry due to the fact it’s missing really important ingredients like bleaches and enzymes.

I personally really love the values of Dr. Bronners and am hoping they can create a product that works really well in the laundry room, but this current iteration is very weak when it comes to cleaning clothes. I would not recommend this product for laundry.

I am a Dr. B. Sal Suds addict, and use it for everything except laundry. It fared poorly here with our water, but it makes a great all purpose cleaner. I used to use regular Dr. B's in the shower, for shaving, etc, but when they switched to a hemp-based formula it made me itchy and scratchy, so that one is right out.

Its commonly advertised to use both. Not much would likely change but it would interesting to see the difference!

I use dreft. If its a bad stain a little borax or pre stain. Grease i use a little flour or something before hand and dont dry it u till i get it out. Pre washing in the sink has saved so many things. I learn a lot from you, though, so thanks! I use dreft becaise i like the scent and i havw a toddler and i have been sold o. That aspect of the marketing 🤷🏼‍♀️

True..I use Dr bronners blue for baby and it doesn’t get stains out at all I normally remove the stains with shout and then wash..I just really like the soup because of the ingredients and my child has never had an allergic reaction

Would you be willing to review more biodegradable products for those of us with septic systems? Tide Purclean, Rockin’ Green Activewear, Molly’s Suds, Drops etc

I use both and always get awesome results. It takes out all of my stains. I spot treat my stains and have no complaints

Persil is my choice for dishwasher detergent. Very good stuff. Not surprised to see them near the top of this list for laundry detergent as well.

You have to use HD detergent in HD washing machines..period.TIDE is my favourite.great content!

Please do a Zote bar review! I see people use it in homemade detergents, but I have had a lot of luck with it as a stain remover and would like to see how it fairs alone as a detergent.

I’d like to see how well the buff city soap laundry soap plus holds up. I’ve been eyeing it and it seems to have a lot of good reviews.
