Показать описание
Ingredients:
• 5 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons salt
• About 2.5 cups water
For layering:
• 100 g melted butter
• 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Filling:
• 500 g lean ground beef
• 1 onion
• ½ teaspoon black pepper
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• Salt to taste
For topping:
• 1 egg yolk
Instructions:
• Prepare the filling: Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pan. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until it changes color.
• Add the ground beef and continue cooking until it is half-cooked.
• Stir in the spices, mix well, and set aside to cool.
• Prepare the dough: In a bowl, mix flour, water, and salt to form a soft dough.
• Divide the dough into 7 equal pieces and roll each into a small, plate-sized round.
• Spread the butter and oil mixture on your work surface and place one dough round on top.
• Repeat the process, layering each dough round with the butter and oil mixture.
• Once all layers are stacked and buttered, let them rest for 10 minutes.
• Shaping the börek: Take each dough piece and gently stretch it with your hands. (No rolling pin needed due to the oil.)
• Stretch it as thin as possible, then shape it as shown in the video.
• Place the shaped börek on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
• Brush the top with egg yolk.
• Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake until golden brown.
