Depression is a leading cause of disability worldwide. Effective treatments are therefore highly sought after, but to do this understanding the cause of disease is needed. The link with breastfeeding is interesting. I wonder if people born by caesarean section are also more likely to have depression. It has been found that c-section babies have a different gut microbiome, babies born vaginally receive important bacteria as they pass through the vaginal canal that helps to establish a healthy bacterial colony. I have seen reports that people who were born by c-section are more likely to become obese adults and to develop diabetes. It seems to me likely that there would be a link with depression.

Yeah I agreed that depression is caused by microbiome. All my life is proving that. I live in depression for 9 years. Some food give my symptoms so worse that I take panic attack and watching in fc wall. Just after taking this food. It’s so weird. But this theory of microbiome seems to be truth.
