There's only a few mild differences with the latest X AIR iPad 1.6 that's not mentioned in this video (which is based on the previous V1.4.2 of the iPad app). The app now follows the same DCA method as the X AIR EDIT PC software, allowing for up to 4 DCA's by selecting a channel from the main mix window and then clicking the OUTPUT tab at the top of the page.

You can also still arrange the order of input channels, but you will have to do this by creating a new Custom "Layer" and editing it to your preference. When editing your customer layer, press and hold the ADD button and then drag to reposition your channels the way you like.

It took me a while to figure out, but with the new update to the app released a few days after this video, you now change the individual fader names using the new "scribble strip" in the setup screen.

When you group them together, though, you still name the group the way you did it in the video. Since the app is still pretty new this is all subject to change again. No complaints though. Overall it's some pretty cool stuff!

My new XR18 just arrived. Incredible product...incredible capabilities.  The documentation provided is helpful for hookup, but doesn't offer information for using the software interface.  Please continue to produce more and even more in-depth video tutorials. They are greatly appreciated.  I have begun dialing in settings but need to know more about best practices for saving those settings, backing up those settings, recalling those settings, and sharing those settings across multiple devices like a MacBook Pro (PC) and an iPad.

BEHRINGER, there are no annotations. I selected Layout, Layer, create layer, named it, selected the pencil button and still can't move them.

Is it possible to rename the Bus channels on this app? I am not sure if that is a feature but I thought I'd ask since I haven't been able to figure it out. Would be helpful to name specific floor monitors that are routed from the aux sends to those bus channels.

Any chance we'll see some of the nicer things in this app in the X32 app?  Plus, is the RTA coming to the iPad app any time soon?  Thanks.

I recall on previous version(s) of XAir for iPad one could collapse the individual input channel views to see all faders at once but it seems now this option is replaced by "Layers". Did that button move somewhere? Is there a way to display 16 channel faders at once?

I am on the latest version of X Air Edit and when I click on setup, there is no channel layout option. Has it changed? Or is it different for X Air Edit when on a Macbook Pro?

This video is not up to date. A new one should be posted with the updated software

I'm a writer, NOT a sound engineer, so call me "a dummy", whatever...however, please consider labeling and posting your tutorials in a more user-friendly form more conducive to the user who is TOTALLY NEW to setting up and using your product out of the box. I bought the XAIR XR18 a few years ago, and honestly just gave up on it to focus on life. I would have been doing work on the device, but it (for me) is not as intuitive as a traditional mixer. While I'm pretty sure that I plugged each of the patch cables in correctly, when it comes down to the settings and actually hearing any sound at all, I'm embarrassed to admit, I'm lost.

I've watched several of your tutorials, but not one have I found to actually walk the user through the basics of setup out of the box, and some of the most basic configurations. In my case, I want to use the X AIR in place of my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, as an interface, and connect directly to my iMac.

I respect that everyone's workstation is setup uniquely, but I first suggest a basic explanation of connecting the X AIR to the PC or Mac, wired OR Wifi, (I prefer wired).

Secondly, your videos on channel setup don't seem to address or visually match what the beginner sees after downloading the software, up to the point of seeing sound signal flow.

This is a phenomenal product, from all of the advertising and word of mouth before my purchase, but it seems I'd need a court in sound engineering to navigate the assumptions implied through your tutorials. I'm anxious to learn, but there's just too much life going on right now to be battling this learning curve, when I'm ready to get recording again.

HELP ME PLEASE

Respectfully,

Sidzone
