Fix for the Windows Cannot Connect to the Printer Error 0x0000011b

If you are trying to connect to a shared or network printer in Windows 11 or even 10, you might get an error that says cannot connect to the printer and also say the operation failed with error 0x0000011b. There are several steps you can try to get around this and we will show you several and then a way that should work no matter how your computer is configured.

Registry fix steps
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print
Right-click on the Print key and select New → DWORD-32-bit Value
Name the new key RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled
Set its value to 0
Reboot

Uninstall any updates that match these KB numbers

I'm an I.T officer at my place of work and I battled with this since I resumed work today.

My situation was to try link a windows 11 system to a printer on the network whose host is Windows 8.1. (Not even Windows 10).

I almost downgraded the newly installed Windows 11 on the PC I was having issues on just to make sure the printer would be connected.

But after trying this out not long ago (5pm Nigerian 17:00 GMT+1 WestAfrican time), it worked out!!!

I've tried all of this but at the end it won't print test page from client PC.

It looks like everything is fine but when I send the test page it throws an error even if I send something from word. Any idea? Thanks in advance

didn't work. I did all the possibilities like I restart the client unit and from the server printer, still didn't work. but the other Client user has no error like this one but only 8 out or 100 computers can install the drivers printer without error and any fixing like you did., that don't understand that where is the problem
