FiTech efi issue (resolved)

I was having running issues with my new EFI system but the problems were resolved with a new distributor.
Working awesome now.

Well, FiTech sent me a new distributor to try and bam...fixed the problem completely. My old distributor (brand new Summit ready to run) was sending crazy RPM signals to the ECM. Datalogger was showing from 1600 rpm to 45 to 90 to 1200 all in 1 second. This was really freaking the EFI out. Big shout out to the FiTech team for being super patient with me and going above and beyond to help me resolve this. Check out my other vids for updates on the system and driving videos.

It would be trying to compensate (Fan Power Adder) each time fans come on. FiTech has an RPM adjustment setting on idle rpm when they come on, so that could of been why it was hunting up and down. But seems like yours was a dizzy problem instead. I let my fans be controlled by a standalone fan switch I put in block.

Sounds like you're pretty knowledgeable with this stupid system. I own it unfortunately and cannot get it to run right. My main issue is as soon as I kill it, it diesels and man is that the worst thing. Now i switch back to hei and the idle keeps fluctuating all over the place, I did this because when I did timing control one cylinder was lean the rest were rich, at 4500 it would backfire and stop accelerating. Do I seriously need to go to school just to learn how to work a self learning system. Regardless any help is much appreciated

would you mind giving me a quick rundown of how you phased your timing? I have a 302 in a 65 mustang with msd mech dizzy and adjustable rotor, I've get everything ready to go just kind of confused on how to phase
