Awesome! Had a friend that wiped and reloaded a retired corporate laptop. Used a valid license key from a dead Dell Win7 laptop but activation failed. Tried other Internet suggested methods. Nothing worked but this did. Win7 is now activated.

omg thx for the hellp i was trying to activate windows 7 pro sp1 and the product key i hav on the back of the cd box was not working but i saw this and when i did all the steps and tryd to activate it worked thx :)

12 year old laptop had Win 10 on it, so after upgrading ram, CPU & adding SSD decided to run Win 7 at lighting speed as an off line system.
Certificate update KB3102810 worked fine for activation...many thanks 😃

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I have Win Home Premium, not Win Home Basic. I tried to enter a genuine product key before but got an error code 0x80072f8f. In my computer in properties I don't have 30 days to activate only "you need to activate today" and the window from minute 3:18 of the video didn't appear.

This has got me out of a hole that you would not believe, many thanks for this. Just one problem I had and it was my fault, I loaded a 32 bit and forgot to search for the 64 bit KB file once I realised my error it was plain sailing from there.

This worked for me even without the "Services" step. It's much faster than the alternative of calling the phone number and giving them a set of numbers. 😀
