Imagine if it was Anakin that turned kylo back to the light instead of Han. After he tells Rey he “can’t go back” and she runs off, anakins force ghost could put his hand on his shoulder and be like “you can always go back”. Imagine how that would affect him basically his Idol darth Vader telling him that even he turned back to the light before the end.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought it was odd that force ghosts show up when Luke’s about to burn a tree, but not when he’s about to murder his nephew.

I know it’s about the new generation, but how do you not include Anakin and Obi Wan into the new trilogy...? They could have been advising Luke, Rey, and/or Kylo. I don’t mind the new movies but man did they rush certain things and leave things out that could made the films so much more.

What makes this cool is and makes the last Jedi scene even stupider is that in the new canon not the old EU but the comics disney has approved of
Post return of the Jedi luke is trained and often given advice by the force ghosts of Yoda Obi and Anakin prior to him cutting off the force years later. YOU WOULD ASSUME ANAKIN WOULD WARN HIS SON NOT TO TRUST FORCE VISIONS TOO MUCH. Since here Luke attempts to for a moment kill kylo because he essentially saw what he was becoming

This is actually a fantastic edit. If Rian Johnson had recorded Anakin's voice to speak to Luke during this scene it would have blown everyone away, I think. It gave me goosebumps when I heard Luke say "I can stop it", then Anakin's voice replies with "No, your sister." As if to say: "Really, Luke? You're really going to contemplate this? You've seen what the dark side does to people, Hell, I should know even. Take it from me, don't slaughter your fucking nephew. What would Leia say, man? Just chill." I love it.
