This was something I realised when I reached a stage where I kind of lost the motivation to draw after having mostly developed my technical skills through portraits/realism. I had run out of new things to try and work on and everything I had done up to that point was kind of boring even if it looked good on a technical level.
I've been following tons of artists over the years and those who inspire me the most always change. Many of whom I follow now made me want to tell stories too and soon I went from realistic portraits to stylizing different things, characters, studying environments and lighting.
That was a real game changer for me, never had an art block since! :D

I agree with what Kesh is saying. People love stories and drawing is way to tell stories. I always asked what was the purpose of drawing. Either your drawing something you like, or you want to tell your story. There are many different reasons why people do art. I feel if you're ever art blocked, or just don't like where your going, this idea of a story with your art is a wonderful way to think.

This is absolutely true...Earlier when I used to draw based on given subjects by my art teacher, I always noticed that my drawings were kind of still..It was as if they had no life...Now after years I realised that I can tell stories through my drawings.. Currently I'm trying to do that...Because I feel like that's the point of making art... Keep creating amazing content Kesh!! Love your videos.! They are always helpful as much as funny!♥️😜
