Brandon, you touched on the core issues of our fear of death, our brokenness, our frailties as things that ought to compel our hearts toward Jesus because in Him all human need is met. It has been my experience that most people are uncomfortable introspecting on their fear of death, their moral failings, their neediness, etc. and live in denial about the deepest parts of their humanity.

I am so full of faults and issues yet Jesus made me promises. He is long suffering and patient towards me and saved me so many times...Thank you Jesus....

The most frustrating thing is that people don't want to hear these points, there is an incredible resilience in people to hearing anything that will go against their existing and "complete" understanding of everything; ie the big bang and evolution.
I have to really take a deep breath when confronted with blind opposition, but the irony is that that was me 😢

I am glad God has dealt with not only my death problem, but also purposelessness problem by us working together to let people know death does not end one's life, but one afterlife that is crafted in such a way we cannot fathom how perfect it will be. And I'm glad God gave us a choice to go after it or not.

Also, think of this. The same disciples that did not have the courage to attend our Lord's crucifixion out of fear for their own safety of being associated with him later went on to be, in almost all cases, brutally killed for the claim that they saw Jesus die and rise from the dead. Without exception, they died proclaiming the truth of what they witnessed. If they had not witnessed this, they would have denied him and saved themselves, but they didn't. The only change from the time of Jesus's crucifixion to the time of their martyrdom was that they saw our Lord alive after his death. God bless.
