I saw this laptop in person the other day at Costco.
They looked really good and comparative to the M1 MacBooks. Screen quality and all. I was thinking, man, this is a windows version of the mac. I liked it but I have a feeling the M1 is still superior to the Xi GPU and the Evo CPU. Now if they had the RTX series in these..man...they would destroy Macbook Airs or Pros but then again, it would probably ramp up a lot of heat and power versus Apple Silicon. I still think this is a great laptop for a windows/pc based user.

Surface Laptops have received considerable criticism for its lack of integrated USB ports which I see as unwarranted. I have a Surface Laptop 3 which has the same configuration or USB ports. That issue is easily and cheaply resolved. I bought a $10 USB bank off of Amazon plugged it into the USB-A port and I now have 8 connected USB ports the computer recognizes. Then there's also the USB-C port of which one could to the same thing with. So it's not like the lack of integrated ports can't be easily resolved.

Battery life great too, next time dive into it. But downside no 1080p web cam, no sd card reader, no place for the Slim Pen2. Microsoft wants to keep the Laptop Studio exlcusive it seems, so that’s why the Surface Laptop 5 has some downsides. Such as no discret GPU.

I’ve had the surface laptop 3 since early 2020 and literally nothing has changed other than the processing power

Friggin' love the Surface laptop. Genuinely better than the MacBook IMHO (I own an MBP M1 2020). My son took the Surface Laptop (instead of the MBP) with him to University so I immediately purchased another SL4 for myself. Love using with a Microsoft dock connected to two monitors when I need to do any video or photo editing. I know it's not the fastest computer but the design is simple, beautiful and that keyboard(!!). The Hello Camera unlock and that 4:2 screen simply take it over the top.

I purchased three SL5 and they were all incompatible with Surface Slim pen 2 and Surface pen (and a third party pen). When I kept using the pens, touch screen stopped working randomly. I confirmed these pens work perfectly fine on my Surface Pro3 without any issue so I think it's the issue of entire SL5 lines (which is serious problem I think). I reported this issue to MS customer team, but they were saying only three SL5 units that I've tested could have hardware failure issue, not the entire SL5 lines, and closed the case. I think this is ridiculous that they were saying only three units (brand new) that I've tested have hardware failure because such probablity is extremetly low and it's more likely that it's the issue of entire SL5 lines. I think this is serious problem, and MS should come up with firmware update or something, but they seem not interested so far. I'd greatly appreciate if you could test on your SL5 with Surface pen (or third party stylus) to see if touch screen stops working randomly (you have to keep using it repeatedly) and publish the video so that more people get to know about the issue and MS can start investigating it more properly.

Great review! Yes, wish another USB-C/T4 is put in, and yes, replace the Surface Connect port with that.
I still have an SL3, the touchpad is incredibly close to a MacBook's. Any other recommendations on touchpad/trackpad like the Surface Laptop's or the MacBooks? We use mostly Lenovo ThinkPads X1s at work. If only the ThinkPads have the same touchpad feel as the SLs.

Hi, anyones here can give me recommendation, which ones is good for video editing, i confused because to many series..
