You missed a new feature of 3.0: pressing ALT + q to select an object without switching to object mode

I've gotten this far without crying... haha. I will admit, I had to take breaks in between because I'd mess up. But I am determined to push forward and keep learning. :)

I've literally downloaded Blender yesterday and I'm already 5 parts into this. These videos made what I thought looked complicated, into something fun and easy to understand. I think I found my new hobby and honestly doing this for a career does seem really fun. Gonna comment again when I finish the last part just so you know that the videos truly helped me

I’ve always loved watching movies like Toy Story and even Pixar’s shorts as a kid and not just enjoying the stories but being blown away at the animation. It’s insane to think this technology is free to the public and that I’m actually learning it now. Thank you for this series, I feel like little me would be mind blown that I could make this alone with a laptop.

Remember to save your doughnut as a different file after each video . That way you can go back to what you missed or faulted in your previous edits.

Using Blender for about a year now. Still seeing all the parts because it gives me nostalgia <3
I even found many new tricks here, or the functions I ignored! Andrew mastered the art of teaching.

A year ago, I decided to give Blender a try with no art/3D experience and used this tutorial. Unfortunately, this was the point where I gave up; I think because of the icing clipping. However, 8 weeks ago I decided to give it another try but, ironically, using a much more advanced tutorial (modeling a character, which is what I _actually_ want to do in Blender). Then I came back to this tutorial and everything just "clicked"!
Since then, I've successfully rendered 2 donuts, a chair, and even the ANVIL using your tutorials. I've also animated a flaming sword with character using another tutorial. And just last week, I rendered a bedside table with textures & lighting, using _only reference photos_ and what I've learned (although I did have to Google troubleshoot lol)! Progress!
So if anyone reading this has given up, it's OK to "take a break" and come back--even for a year or longer. Just TRY to come back. And, if you're like me and need to feel "passionate" about what you're learning, consider seeking out a Blender tutorial that teaches you what you're passionate about as a "starting point", no matter its skill level. Even an advanced tutorial has stuff to teach you.

A faster way to apply all modifiers is to press Alt + C and click Convert to: Mesh. It is already a mesh but if you convert something it will always apply all modifiers. So if you just convert from mesh to mesh it will apply all the modifiers for you. It can be helpful when you have a bunch of modifiers

If the 'Inflate' tool isn't working for you.

1) Make sure you've applied all the modifiers on both parts before entering sculpting tool.
2) Make sure you've selected the 'Icing' layer while entering the sculpting mode (and not the donut).

I made the previous donut almost 1 year ago and remade it 3 times in total. It was super useful because this tutorial is a perfect overview of the basic and main functionalities in blender. Even If I didn't know exactly what i was doing the main features (modelling, sculpting, shading, paint mode etc) stuck in my head and that knowledge was super useful.

I been getting excited for each new segment because I'm not sure if the newer version of blender has the same functionality as your last donut ones from years ago. So I keep it safe and just follow along for this one.

If your Inflate mod actually deflate on one of your mesh, you need to flip your normals.
Go to edit mod, press A to select all, then press ALT+N and click "flip"

This is the first Blender tutorial I've followed and the only tutorial I have followed for 3D modelling. I'm already obsessed with sculpting! It's been a rough journey for me, this is my third time attempting the doughnut and my first time making it this far. But I had a lot of fun during this tutorial and am excited to keep learning. :)

If the inflate tool just doesnt seem to be doing anything its most likely because you didn't apply all the modifiers before opening the sculpting window.

Globules is in fact a word and it works perfectly in the context you used to describe them with

Ive been using blender for the past 2 years and im starting to realise that i haven't improved at all, my first and most recent render are almost identicle in quality and thats just been depressing, yesterday i woke up and said fuck it, i saw your 3.0 tutorial and decided that i will start blender from the ground up, relearning the basics and then the advanced stuff, when i started 2years ago i didnt watch the tutorial cause i was too lazy, but now i told myself that its either make this godamn donut and get back into blender 3d graphics, or quit the entire thing, glad i did the right choice and the fact that i can watch this live means that im learning slowly instead of zooming past the series in a single day which is just amazing for me :D
