How To Deadhead Roses For More Flowers

Deadheading is a simple pruning technique to help cleanup your roses after a flush of blooms - removing those spent flowers also encourages the shrub to return to flowering sooner. In this video, I'll show you how to deadhead individual blooms as well as cluster-flowering roses.

I was surprised to see and know that I'm dead heading my climbing rose correctly. I was told to not cut it back completely in the fall, but I do. to about 1.5 to 2 feet in height as I seem to get a lot of blooms come spring and summer and am able to cut out any dead, woody branches. It always comes back beautiful and anywhere from 3 to 4 feet in height. Do you agree or disagree with my method? Thank you as this was extremely helpful and you explained it perfectly! ♥
