The Hidden Struggles of Autistic Girls: Strong Emotions and Finding Support 💪

Hey there, beautiful souls! 🌟 Today, I want to shine a light on something incredibly important - the often overlooked world of autistic girls and the unique challenges they face. 🌺💪

🌸 Growing up autistic girls understand that our emotions run deep and strong, like the mightiest rivers. They feel with every fiber of our beings, and sometimes, it can be overwhelming. But let me tell you, the strength is boundless. 🌊💕

💞 Society might not always understand the struggles, but that doesn't diminish our worth. They are resilient, and shine in their own brilliant ways. 🌟✨

✨ Finding support is a journey, and I want to encourage every autistic girl out there to reach out and connect. Together.

🙌 Let's break down the barriers, tear down the stereotypes, and let voices be heard. 🗣💬

I have to say that with time and good educational resources, I have become much better at articulating my needs. 4ever Ausome and getting better every day. 💖

This is true. My daughter also failed to be able to communicate problems and abuse at school to me as well. She literally didn’t even consider telling me. Even though I would ask her about school every day. She tells me things now many years later that break my heart.

Thank you for highlighting girls on the spectrum. I have 2 girls, both on the spectrum. My oldest is 21 and higher care needs, but she doesn't really mask, what you see is what you get. My youngest is 11, and is ADHDistic as well. (Her words, not mine, lol). My youngest developed severe anxiety because she was in a mainstream school that just made no effort to help her. Even with agreement from higher up in the school, she was punished with playtimes removed, and being told off all the time, for talking, fidgeting, not completing work, zoning out etc. She's homeschooled now, and is so much happier. She's more confident, happier, calmer. She knows I understand her, so I work with her strengths rather than making her feel worse for not achieving.

Taking “sick” days from school because I just couldn’t face it some days. I just told Mom I was sick and spent the day in bed recharging.

Thank you for posting this. You are spot on. My childhood as a young girl with Aspergers was a nightmare. No one knew about Autism let alone Aspergers when I was a kid. I’m comfortable in my own skin now and feel deeply for little Aspie girls bc people don’t “get” it

I normally cant bloody shut up! But some things can be so upsetting that my mouth wont work.
Same with food... Cant stop, especially with chronic stress. But crisis stress launches me into a fast. . at least ot does calm me down when nothing else can.

This is not always the case. I have alexithymia and do not often feel emotional unless it is extreme. My emotional profile far and away resembles the typical male presentation of autism.

What exactly about girls and women makes it so that this affects them more so than boys and men?

What specifically makes this harder for girls than for boys? Why are so many of your videos so gendered? And yes, I am autistic
