i do appreciate how that in mgs, snake and raiden serve to protect the status quo(the patriots), making them unknowing villains of the series. the person to end rule of the patriots was ocelot, a villain of the story. mgs understood that war is not made up of heroes and villains, but killers for different causes.

Part of me wishes David Hayter also voiced Solidus like Ootsuka Akio did in Japanese, but a much bigger part of me can't imagine Solidus having another English voice besides this.

Solidus is the one of the best villains ever imo. A mark of a fantastic villain to me is that they have a goal of their own that - as twisted as it might be - they see as noble. It really makes it feel like them and the hero are two opposing forces that ultimately must clash

Starting to see solidus’s speech become more and more like a prophesy each passing day only instead of the “patriots” it’s the WEF which is more concerning, that game predicted the future all the way back in 2001
